Overview

Randall J. Oppenborn is the director, information governance with Foley & Lardner LLP. He is responsible for leading, directing and managing the policies, processes, systems, and team that support the firm’s Information Governance program. These include information security and privacy, records and information management, firm-related document holds and mandated destruction, matter mobility, systems assessment, and education and awareness.

Mr. Oppenborn has over 15 years of experience working in information technology. Prior to joining Foley, he was the director, information security for the DeVry Education Group where he oversaw the global information security operations. He was also the director of IT for Career Education Corporation and project manager for USG Corporation.

Education

Mr. Oppenborn earned his master’s degree from Aurora University (MBA, 2009) and his bachelor’s degree in finance from Creighton University (B.S., 1987).

Community Engagement

Mr. Oppenborn is actively involved in the Chicago community where he is currently a volunteer for the Ronald McDonald House Charities, Greater Chicago Food Depository, and Loaves and Fishes.
