Prior to joining Foley, Elizabeth was a Senior Patent Agent at REG Life Sciences where she drafted and prosecuted patent applications related to fatty acid metabolism in bacteria. Her experience includes 10 years as a Patent Advisor for the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service where she drafted and prosecuted patent applications related to agriculture and biotechnology, and advised individuals at all levels of the agency on matters related to patent prosecution. Prior to becoming a patent practitioner, Elizabeth worked as a researcher in the biotech industry and in academia.
Elizabeth earned her master's degree (M.S.) in biology from the University of Oregon and a bachelor's degree (B.S.) in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Elizabeth is registered to practice as a patent agent before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
