Dr. Wu holds a doctoral degree in mechanical engineering and is a licensed Texas attorney. He is a Chinese citizen and has eight years of experiences in patent prosecution in the United States. Dr. Wu serves worldwide clients to obtain patent protection across different jurisdictions and provides support for patent related litigation. His clients range from multinational corporations, research institutes to individual inventors of the following fields:
Dr. Wu’s practice includes patent prosecution, freedom to operate analysis, patent infringement analysis, and due diligence investigation. With his multilingual skills, he reviews bilingual contract agreements, including IP licensing agreements, from time to time.
Dr. Wu has over 300 academic publication citations and substantial research experience in mechanical and aerospace engineering, studying aeroelasticity of flexible flapping wings of micro air vehicles (e.g., mechanical hummingbirds). His work includes computer-aided design/prototyping of small-scale mechanical systems, optical experimental technique application and development, control interface and software development, and creating tools for data post-processing and analysis. Dr. Wu is highly regarded in his field, as evidenced by his numerous often-cited publications in peer-reviewed journals, and his continuous participation as reviewers for academic journal papers.
During his law studies at the SMU Dedman School of Law, Dr. Wu participated in Lynn’s Intellectual Property Inn of Court in the 2017-2018 term. He has also served as a senior article editor of the SMU Science and Technology Law Review. Dr. Wu is native in both Cantonese and Mandarin, enabling him to efficiently communicate with important foreign parties, including associates, office, and clients, in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.
