Managing Labor and Employment Issues

Health care industry acquisitions, collaborations, and programs involving physician, nurse, and other employee travel to foreign sites for work, training, or other purposes may involve a wide range of labor and employment law requirements. These requirements can include issues such as employee-restrictive covenants, visa/immigration, employee background checks, wages, work hour benefits, workplace safety and health, continuing medical education, worker reductions in force, and professional licensing. These can also trigger, where such requirements exist, legal measures aimed at protecting, accommodating, and/or avoiding discrimination against certain populations, such as those with disabilities.
