Realizing the promise of personalized medicine requires collaboration between a number of industry stakeholders. For example, commercialization of a bioinformatic company’s gene-based insight into patient selection for a given drug likely will involve development agreements and/or licenses with one or more companies in the contract research, diagnostic, and clinical testing sectors, and possibly the drug’s manufacturer.
We have extensive experience in identifying potential collaborators from the various industry sectors and crafting agreements and/or joint ventures that can help facilitate the success of your project. In addition, we recognize that clients need more than legal insight to succeed. That is why, in June 2011, the firm launched Foley Ventures, a venture capital fund that invests exclusively in or with our clients. We are “putting our money where our mouth is” by taking an equity stake in our clients’ future prospects.
