Bank regulatory changes, historically low interest rates, and other market factors have resulted in a surge of private debt placements commonly known as “direct purchase” financings by health care providers. In these transactions, providers directly place all or a portion of their debt with one or more financial institutions rather than access the public debt markets. This Web conference will feature an in-depth discussion of the issues facing nonprofit health care providers who consider the direct purchase alternative, including a discussion of recent trends, a comparison of direct purchase financing with public offerings, and an analysis of the benefits and disadvantages of this financing alternative.
