Chick Comments on Texas Bill Limiting Cities’ Ability to Regulate Construction
27 May 2019
Public Affairs Director Craig Chick was quoted in a Dallas News article, “Dallas, McKinney urge Gov. Greg Abbott to veto bill limiting cities’ construction regulations,” about a proposed ban on cities imposing construction regulations that exceed basic national standards.
Chick, who represents the Dallas-based Safe Building Materials Association of Texas, said that going forward, homeowners could front their homes with brick or stucco as desired rather than because a city requires it. “Homeowners should have a choice in how their home is built – and the price,” he said.
