Following his involvement in Foley’s speaker series, “The Comeback: Sports in a Worldwide Pandemic,” partner and co-chair of the firm’s Sports & Entertainment group, Jon Israel, was quoted in the Sports Business Journal on the legal challenges that will accompany the return to sports.
Israel told the SBJ, “Safety is still clearly the priority issue,” adding that mask and vaccination requirements remain murky legal areas. He also noted that, “There’s been a lot of litigation by companies which thought they were covered for company business interruption during COVID that found out they weren’t, so that’s been unsettling for them.” Israel added that, “Force majeure is just much more specific than ever.”
