Foley & Lardner LLP is pleased to announce that Partner Laura Ganoza and the firm’s NFT Task Force have been selected as honorees of the Daily Business Review’s 2022 Florida Legal Awards in the Innovators category.
The Daily Business Review’s annual Florida Legal Awards recognize professional excellence in the legal community in assorted areas of the law. According to the publication, the Innovators category “recognizes innovation, whether it’s new practice groups or programs, upgrade to internal operations, or technology for use by the firm or clients.”
In a Q&A titled “Innovators: Laura Ganoza Led Foley & Lardner in Helping Businesses Navigate NFTs,” the Daily Business Review notes that Ganoza “identified a unique intersection of the growing fashion and technology industries in South Florida, and helped form the firm’s multidisciplinary NFT Task Force to help guide organizations through uncharted legal territory.”
Ganoza talks about the innovative steps she took during 2021, overlooked routes to effective innovation, how she overcame her biggest challenge, and insights on what the legal profession still needs to do to effectively move forward. She said Foley’s “NFT task force and innovative technology sector teams have collectively and individually identified trends in how NFTs and other emerging technologies have the potential to impact business today and in the future.” She continued, “the key to successful partnerships with businesses is understanding their unique and individual needs… True sector knowledge is key.”
