Diversity Lab, an incubator for innovative ideas and solutions that boost diversity and inclusion in the legal profession, recognized Foley & Lardner LLP as a 2022 Inclusion Champion for its Health Care Practice Group. Foley is one of 13 practice groups to earn the title from more than 240 law firms.
Inclusion Champions had to achieve a score of at least 70 out of 100 across four key indicators:
- Diversity representation based on average or above-average thresholds
- Year-over-year diversity representation progress
- Diversity representation tracking
- Meaningful inclusion practices and activities
For the first time this year, the champions also had to meet a diversity representation threshold or show year-over-year progress for each of four underrepresented populations, including women lawyers, underrepresented racial and ethnic lawyers, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities.
“As seen by their high scores… this year’s champs are clearly leading the industry on two fronts – they are ensuring that all underrepresented groups are provided with equal access to opportunities, and they are investing in the critical but harder-to-implement inclusion practices that are true motivators for change,” said Leila Hock, Diversity Lab’s Chief Growth Officer.
The Inclusion Champions are part of Diversity Lab’s 2022 Inclusion Blueprint, a tool designed specifically for law firms that measures equity and inclusion at both the leadership and practice group levels.
