The article discussed the increasing amount of insurers turning to telehealth services to keep people out of expensive health care settings. Lacktman was quoted saying, “[Insurers have] begun to see the financial value in making [telemedicine] offerings available.” He also spoke to the varying state statutes and said that while they broadly mandate commercial insurers to pay for telehealth services, some stipulate specific criteria only.
