Experienced Cybersecurity Partner Returns to Foley in Milwaukee
11 octobre 2016
Foley & Lardner LLP announced today that Jennifer Rathburn has returned to the firm’s Privacy, Security & Information Management, Technology Transactions and Outsourcing and Health Care Practices as a partner in the Milwaukee office. Rathburn is an established figure in the cybersecurity community and brings a depth of practical experience in guiding organizations through data breaches and privacy issues.
Rathburn has significant experience counseling clients on data protection programs, data incident management and breach response and recovery; as well as the monetization of data, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy issues. Rathburn is one of the founders of the Midwest Cyber Security Alliance and has a deep understanding of the complex risk, operational and legal issues companies must address to maintain the confidentiality of, access to and integrity of their data.
“Jen has a deep expertise in data security and privacy issues that will be extremely helpful to our clients as they face the complexities of the digital world and the ever evolving threat to their data. We are thrilled to have her back at Foley and a part of our stellar group of cybersecurity professionals,” said James Kalyvas, chair of Foley’s Technology Transactions and Outsourcing Practice and co-chair of the Privacy, Security & Information Management Practice.
Rathburn also counsels clients on health care regulatory compliance and related contractual issues. She has studied and advised clients on HIPAA since the inception of the Act and knows how to create practical solutions to promote the business objectives of organizations while maintaining compliance with applicable laws.
“Jen has an array of experience counseling clients on legal challenges, ranging from advising on how to manage and protect their valuable and sensitive data to acting as a trusted advisor on health care regulatory matters. Her presence will help ensure our clients successfully navigate the challenges in the high-risk area of cybersecurity and health care, both in Wisconsin and nationally,” said Linda Benfield, managing partner of Foley’s Milwaukee office.
Prior to rejoining Foley, Rathburn was a partner at Quarles & Brady LLP.
