Smith Discusses Increased Number of Women Lawyers Promotions in #MeToo Era

Miami OMP Leslie Smith was quoted in The American Lawyer article, “Data Shows Female Lawyers Are Moving Up Faster in #MeToo Era,” about the increased number of women lawyers being promoted to partner since last fall when the Harvey Weinstein scandal became public. According to AmLaw, women have climbed the ranks at large law firms at a faster pace than before.
“What the Harvey Weinstein and #MeToo movement has done is raise awareness,” Smith told AmLaw. “Firms began to look internally and ask, ‘Are we doing right by our women?’”
