Overview

Maggie Brzakala is an associate with Foley & Lardner LLP, based in the firm’s Milwaukee office, where she is a member of the firm’s Insurance Practice.

Maggie began with Foley as a summer associate where she researched case law, prepared written and oral reports on findings in areas such as real estate, insurance, trust and estate law. She reviewed, drafted and revised contracts, and created charts based on statutes and environmental policies.

Prior to joining Foley, Maggie was a LLM discussion group leader at the University of Wisconsin Law School where she developed materials to assist LLM students in reviewing business organizations and tax content. She conducted both online and in-person meetings with LLM students to discuss business organizations and tax materials which included answering questions and going through practice problems. Maggie was also a research assistant to Professor Miriam Seifter and Dr. Angelica Guevara where she researched discrete questions regarding state constitutions, created footnotes based on her research and edited forthcoming articles.

Maggie was a judicial intern at the Wisconsin Supreme Court, Chambers of Justice Ann Walsh Bradley where she prepared bench memoranda, conducted research on a myriad of topics, attended and analyzed oral arguments. She also was a LCLD legal intern at Johnson Controls where she conducted research on a variety of legal issues, assisted in creating due diligence checklists for business partners and provided guidance to business partners negotiating non-disclosure agreements and terminations.
