Stefan Lehnardt is an intellectual property lawyer regularly handling legal issues relating to electronics, computer hardware and software, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), virtual reality (VR), autonomous vehicles, and other fields.

Stefan’s experience includes analyzing the patent landscape of a technology to aid companies in making decisions about future avenues of innovation and areas of intense competition. He also helps companies entering into licensing agreements and in evaluating patents for potential purchase. Stefan is a member of the firm’s Electronics Practice Group, and the Innovative Technology and Energy Sectors. Prior to joining Foley, Stefan was an associate at another Utah firm where he worked on patent prosecution matters. While in law school his studies focused primarily on intellectual property through courses such as patent law, copyright law, trademark law, and advertising law. Stefan was a teaching fellow for Harvard Law School’s CopyrightX Course under Professor William Fisher.
