Eun Sung Lim



Eun Sung Lim is an associate attorney and a business lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP, where he is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Practice and Energy Industry Team. Eun Sung handles transactional matters for a wide range of firm clients, with a focus on the real estate industry and energy industry. In the real estate industry, Eun Sung has experience representing investment firms and corporate clients in all aspects of real estate transactions, including title matters, construction, acquisitions and dispositions, financial transactions, leasing, joint venture and development. In the energy industry, Eun Sung has experience representing companies in the oil, gas and renewable energy industries, in acquisition, development, servicing, financing, and working through financial distress. He also provides counsel to businesses on contractual disputes. Prior to joining Foley, Eun Sung was a real estate associate at a global law firm.


While attending law school, Eun Sung served as a summer intern at the United States Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California, and served as a judicial intern for The Honorable Victoria Kaufman.

  • Represented a national residential gas service company in acquisition to develop a regional service center near Dallas, Texas
  • Represented a private equity firm in acquisition to construct its headquarters near Fort Worth, Texas
  • Represented a real estate investment firm in “value-add” acquisitions of commercial property in Raleigh, North Carolina
  • Represented a private equity investor in the acquisition of a distribution company (via a divisional merger) with multiple distribution facilities near Houston, Texas
  • Represented a private equity investor in a sale-leaseback transaction (in connection with acquiring the target company) for an industrial plant in El Paso, Texas
  • Represented a private water utility company in due diligence and acquisition of utility sites around Texas and general real estate matters
  • Represented national and regional banks in providing senior financing for construction of multifamily apartments around Texas
  • Represented a family foundation in providing senior financing (with a subordinated debt component) for construction of charter schools in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

  • Represented a major oil company in $10.5 billion share purchase with BHP Billiton pursuant to which the oil company agreed to acquire substantially all of BHP Billiton's onshore US oil and gas properties
  • Represented a private equity investor in the disposition of oil and gas leases acquired in foreclosure in exchange for ownership stake in acquirer
  • Represented an energy utility company in the acquisition of interest in land to develop a large-scale solar project in West Texas
  • Represented a pipeline company in the construction and operation of a gas pipeline connecting to a large manufacturing facility end-user in Texas
  • Represented a pipeline company in the disposition of midstream assets in Texas, Pennsylvania, Louisiana, and Mississippi
