In her role as conference chair, Ms. Christopher delivered the program’s opening remarks and moderated the panel Local Stakeholders’ Perspectives. In this session, panelists discussed preemptive strategies used to address the most frequently encountered concerns raised by local communities and stakeholders and to increase public acceptance of offshore wind energy.
Highlights of the conference included an introduction to a unique approach to integrating community wind projects with offshore endeavors as well as inviting leading companies and universities to present poster sessions, showcasing advancements in innovative technologies. Additionally, a pre-summit workshop provided an in-depth analysis of the critical success factors in developing a renewable energy supply chain and the advanced technologies that support the wind energy movement offshore.
