The half-day “deep dive” course is designed to highlight the legal and regulatory issues associated with telemedicine and telehealth, with a particular emphasis on practical discussion and real world application of these rules. Telemedicine compliance is much more than licensing, and includes scope of practice, fraud and abuse, contracting, reimbursement and other issues. Participants will learn about the many aspects of telemedicine legal and regulatory compliance. While the telemedicine regulatory landscape is complex, it can be broken down into parts which providers can understand, apply and incorporate into their own multi-state telemedicine arrangements. Participants at the session will:
- Develop a solid understanding of the key legal and regulatory issues facing telemedicine providers.
- Learn how to apply these rules to their own telemedicine business models and contractual arrangements.
- Obtain the resources and knowledge to take the steps necessary to implement or grow their telemedicine services.
The American Telemedicine Association is the leading international resource and advocate promoting the use of advanced remote medical technologies.
