AHLA Telemedicine Payment and Reimbursement – Embracing Opportunities to Fuel Real Growth
Many health care organizations already have begun developing or implementing telemedicine programs. Yet meaningful payment for telehealth services is a key component in the adoption, implementation, and expansion of these powerful technologies. Currently, Medicare coverage of telemedicine is limited, and many states do not require commercial health plans to pay for telemedicine-based services. How, then, are some providers using telemedicine so successfully? Rather than lament the limitations, these providers have explored a wide variety of revenue opportunities for their telemedicine enterprises, and they are enjoying strong growth after embracing these payment opportunities.
In the second of four webinars in the series, participants will hear from speakers who are successfully charting pathways to commercialization and meaningful payment for telemedicine services. The expert panelists will discuss ideas for over a half dozen different sources of telemedicine revenue, as well as different compensation methodologies and approaches for telemedicine services. In addition, attendees will learn about “the Mississippi experience” with telemedicine reimbursement and the impact of state laws requiring commercial health plans to cover telemedicine services.
Mr. Lacktman will be joined by an expert faculty panel including:
- Kristi Henderson, Chief Telehealth and Innovation Officer, University of Mississippi Medical Center
- Justin Stone, Esq., Chief Legal Officer, Executive Vice President, MDLIVE, Inc.
