Legal Ethics Challenges in the World of Health Care Cyber Threats: Law, Technology and Professional Responsibility for Health Care Lawyers
UT Law CLE
Gardere cybersecurity co-chair and chair of internet, eCommerce and technology, Peter S. Vogel, has recorded a CLE on legal ethics in the health care technology space. The program, “Legal Ethics Challenges in the World of Health Care Cyberthreats: Law, Technology and Professional Responsibility for Health Care Lawyers,” is available for download via UT Law CLE.
In the recording, Vogel and his co-presenter explore cyber intrusions – hacking, ransomware and other threats – that make daily headlines, a growing number of which are aimed at health care organizations. Technology-driven crises also pose significant professional responsibility challenges for health care lawyers as they prepare to help their clients respond to tomorrow’s cyber threats today. Data breaches, disclosure issues and, of course, that really unfortunate tweet may involve an interconnected web of thorny legal, technological and ethical issues.
Hear a discussion of the latest cyber risks facing health care organizations and key legal ethics challenges in responding to them, along with other ethics and professional responsibility issues facing dial-up health care lawyers in a broadband technology world here.
The entire CLE is available for purchase and provides .75 hours of ethics credit.
