Ethics and Valuation in Bankruptcy

Bankruptcy and Business Reorganization Partner Holland N. O'Neil will be presenting "Ethics and Valuation in Bankruptcy" at the upcoming webinar presented by the Bankruptcy Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. Other presenters include Judge Harlin B. Hale of the Northern District of Texas U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Judge Richard S. Schmidt of the Southern District of Texas U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Deborah Williamson of Cox Smith LLP, William Snyder and Richard Lee, both of Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP.

The first half of the webinar will include a discussion of fee sharing and disclosure issues that have arisen in the GSC Group Inc. case pending in the SDNY, and expand to address whether the lines are crossed by the engagement of contract professionals in general.

The panel will then discuss recent rulings on valuation experts and valuation issues including the impact of expert's credibility (or lack thereof) on court rulings, consideration of all facts and data sources, valuing businesses in volatile industries and providing insightful analysis to the trier of fact.
