Innovation Days is a student invention competition open to all undergraduates at UW-Madison, that provides a platform to encourage them to explore and conduct self-directed research, outside the classroom environment. Students can compete for the Schoofs Prize for Creativity by pitching an original idea for a new invention, design or process via a poster presentation and a 10 minute oral/PowerPoint presentation in front of the judges. Those who are interested can also compete for the Tong Prototype Prize by going one step further and actually building a prototype of their idea. First prize for Schoofs is $10,000 and the Tong Prize is $2,500.
