Foley Partner Nathaniel Lacktman, Chair of the firm’s Telemedicine & Digital Health Industry Team, will be a panelist at the American Diabetes Association virtual event on July 21, 2020.  The presentation is titled, “Technology’s Impact on Chronic Care."  At this session, participants will discuss how technology can provide effective chronic care management and treatment for patients. 
 
Led by moderator Heather Landi, Senior Editor, Fierce Healthcare, the expert panel includes:
  • Dr Melynda Barnes, SVP of Medical Affairs and Research at Ro 
  • Dr Mansur Shomali, MD, CM, Chief Medical Officer at Welldoc
  • Amar Kendale, Chief Product Officer at Livongo 
 
Panelists will discuss key legal and regulatory issues for launching a DTC telehealth service line, and important e-commerce and fraud & abuse considerations for DTC telehealth services.  They will explore strategies and emerging consumer trends for DTC virtual care, and what it will look like in a few years.  The moving force behind the work of the American Diabetes Association is a network of more than 565,000 volunteers, a membership of more than 540,000 people with diabetes, their families and caregivers, a professional society of nearly 20,000 health care professionals, as well as more than 250 staff members.
