Acosta Quoted in MDedge ǀ Cardiology News About Foley Telehealth 50 State Payer Survey
05 December 2019
Associate Jacqueline Acosta was quoted in the MDedge ǀ Cardiology News article, “More states pushing plans to pay for telehealth care,” about Foley’s new 50 State Telehealth Survey, which showed that more states are enacting laws that require private insurance plans to cover telehealth services. Fair payment for these services remains a challenge, however.
Overall, the landscape for reimbursement of telehealth services by commercial payers has improved, Acosta said. In 2017, Foley found that “implementation [of telehealth] had really picked up both from providers and patients asking for telemedicine, but reimbursement still lagged behind,” she said. “This one shows real progress on that front.”
