ミゲル・アンヘル・エルナンデス・ロモは、民事、商事、仲裁、破産手続きを専門とする訴訟弁護士である。 1961年より法学教授および実務家として活動するミゲルは、母校であるエスクエラ・リブレ・デ・デレホ（自由法学校）の元学部長であり、米国法学会（ALI）の会員として国際倒産プロジェクトの議長兼共同報告者を務めた。メキシコの民事法、商法、手続法に関する数多くの論文を執筆している。法科大学院在学中に全科目満点でエミリオ・ラバサ賞を受賞した唯一の学生である。
