Michael Schwartz is an associate and business attorney with Foley & Lardner LLP. He is a member of the firm’s Estates & Trusts Practice.
Michael routinely counsels individuals and families in preparing for major life events such as marriage, having children, divorce, death and retirement. His practice includes wealth planning and preservation, estate and tax planning, wills and trusts, probate and trust administration and business transactions.
Michael frequently assists high-net worth individuals and their families in the preparation of various estate planning documents including last will and testaments, revocable trust agreements, irrevocable life insurance trusts, dynasty trusts and grantor retained annuity trusts. He also represents individuals and corporations serving in fiduciary capacities as personal representatives and trustees, advising them in fulfilling their legal obligations in administering estates and trusts. Michael also frequently advises businesses and business owners in matters relating to entity selection and formation, creation of shareholder and operating agreements, and tax planning.
Michael received his law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law (J.D., magna cum laude, 2013), where he was a senior editor for the Alabama Law Review. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida Fisher School of Accounting (B.S., cum laude, 2010). Michael also received his L.L.M in taxation from the University of Florida Levin College of Law (2016) and his Master of Accounting from the Florida Fisher School of Accounting (2010).
