Overview

John Sepehri practices in the Government Solutions Practice at Foley, where he focuses primarily on state regulatory and other government matters. John also works with the members of the firm’s Insurance Practice Group and is a member of the Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG) Team. John has significant experience in matters involving the Texas Legislature, the Office of the Governor of Texas, and with agencies such as the Texas Department of Insurance, Office of the Secretary of State of Texas, and Office of Consumer Credit Commissioner. John also represents lenders and borrowers in the negotiation and documentation of commercial finance transactions.

Prior to joining Foley, John served as general counsel to the Texas Apartment Association and was a member of its government relations team, as well as having served as general counsel to a statewide official, former Texas Secretary of State, Hope Andrade. As a result of those experiences and his long-term involvement in civics and public affairs, John has strong relationships throughout Texas state government. John has also practiced with other major law firms, and clerked for United States District Judge Paul Brown in the Eastern District of Texas. A native Austinite, John is a double graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.
