Jihwang Yeo is an associate with Foley & Lardner LLP. He is a member of the firm’s Electronics Practice. Jihwang focuses his practice on patent prosecution, intellectual property transactions and client counseling on intellectual property matters.
Jihwang is experienced in preparing and prosecuting patents in the technical areas of electrical circuits and devices, semiconductor devices, wireless communications, computer software and hardware, and medical devices. He also has extensive research and industry experience in the areas of wireless and wired communications, computer networks and databases. Jihwang’s experience includes wireless network measurement and analysis, building a database of various wireless networks (3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, WiBro, Sensor Networks, etc.), and developing a commercial DBMS engine.
Prior to joining Foley, Jihwang was a patent agent with McDermott, Will & Emery LLP. Prior to his patent career, Jihwang was a researcher and programmer at Dartmouth College. He also interned at the IBM Almaden Research Center.

Education
Jihwang earned his law degree from The George Washington University Law School (J.D., 2018). He received his M.S. in computer science from the University of Maryland and another M.S. in computer engineering from Seoul National University (1996). He earned his B.S. in computer engineering from Seoul National University (1994).

Jihwang was a former secretary of the Korean-American Intellectual Property Bar Association (KAIPBA). He is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
