She is a member of the firm’s Chemical, Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical Practice. Prior to joining Foley, Dr. Bachorik was an associate and patent agent with BakerHostetler, where she was responsible for prosecuting and drafting biotechnology and pharmaceutical patent applications, and performing freedom to operate and patentability analyses for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and chemical cases. Before this, she attended law school in the evening while working full-time as a patent agent. Prior to her legal career, Dr. Bachorik was a research and communications scientist with Integral Molecular in Philadelphia and a postdoctoral research associate with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. During her postdoc, Dr. Bachorik and colleagues were awarded the FEBS Letters Most Cited Paper 2008 Award, Elsevier. Education Dr. Bachorik earned her law degree from Temple University Beasley School of Law (J.D., 2014), where she received the Robert C. Podwil Memorial Prize, awarded annually to the graduate who demonstrates excellent academic performance and plans to practice in the area of intellectual property. She received her doctorate of philosophy from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in cellular and molecular biology, and her bachelor’s degree in music, magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania.
