Overview Jonathan M. Lindeke Retired Partner Download vCard Jonathan M. Lindeke is a retired partner with Foley & Lardner LLP and was a member of the Health Care Industry Team. Mr. Lindeke provided advice and counsel to clients across the entire spectrum of the health care industry, including hospitals and hospital systems, physicians and medical groups, academic medical centers, long-term care providers, HMOs, and public entities such as health care districts and county governments. Mr. Lindeke regularly represented these clients on all types of general health law issues, including fraud and abuse and "Stark" self-referral laws, health care antitrust issues, and a wide variety of transactional matters. Mr. Lindeke has extensive experience with managed health care, including capitated and "global risk" payment arrangements. He has represented clients in the formation and licensure of two HMOs, one of which is a provider-sponsored organization created by three health care systems, including a large academic medical center. Mr. Lindeke also has extensive experience in health care joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, having been intimately involved in many such transactions nationwide. He acted as lead transactional counsel in the formation of Catholic Health Initiatives of Denver, Colo., one of the largest not-for-profit health care systems in the United States. Having served as editor of the Health Care Law Newsletter, formerly published by Matthew Bender & Co., Inc., from 1990 to 1992, Mr. Lindeke has been a frequent speaker and writer on many national, regional and local health care issues. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Lindeke spent ten years in general business practice in San Francisco, with an emphasis on securities law. Mr. Lindeke is a graduate of Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California, Berkeley (J.D., 1976) and the University of California, Los Angeles (B.A., mathematics, 1970). He was admitted to the California Bar in 1976. Mr. Lindeke is a member of the San Francisco Bar Association and the American Health Lawyers Association.
