Overview Experience Events News Intelligence Jonathan P. Kilman Partner jkilman foley.com Download vCard Jonathan Kilman is a partner and business lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP. Mr. Kilman primarily counsels and represents private and public agency clients in regulatory, government relations and government transactional matters. He is a member of the firm’s Government & Public Policy Practice and the Health Care Industry Team. Mr. Kilman also co-chairs the firm’s Florida Government & Public Policy Practice which recently earned Foley the recognition of the most influential law firm in Florida by Southern Political Report, a quarterly publication that ranks the top government affairs law firms and lobbyists who help shape policy in the South. Mr. Kilman has extensive experience in Florida government and legal matters. In 2002, Mr. Kilman represented the Florida House of Representatives in litigation and appeals related to the redistricting of Florida's state and federal legislative districts. In 2004, he represented the Florida Department of State in state and federal election litigation and appeals. Mr. Kilman also served as legal counsel to the successful 2006 campaign of Florida Governor Charlie Crist. He received a gubernatorial appointment to serve on Florida’s 5th District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission and was appointed by U.S. Senator Marco Rubio to Florida’s Federal Judicial Nominating Commission. Government & Public Policy In his practice, Mr. Kilman advocates on behalf of Fortune 500 companies, regional and local clients before the Florida Legislature, the Executive Office of the Governor and the executive branch agencies. He also represents clients before counties and cities throughout the State in procurement, bid protest and policy matters. His clients come from a broad array of industries, including pharmaceutical, hospital, medical device, insurance, financial services, health policy, digital media, technology, telecommunications, road construction, engineering, project and construction management and local governments and government agencies. Mr. Kilman also regularly provides regulatory counsel and legal representation to national and international clients, including health care, insurance and financial institutions. Prior to joining Foley, Mr. Kilman was made a shareholder at GrayRobinson, P.A. and was a corporate associate with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in Boston, Massachusetts. He served as a law clerk at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts and has served as an adjunct professor teaching law courses at Florida State University.
