Foley hosted an Executive Briefing Series lunch seminar addressing immigration reform and the construction industry on October 26, 2007. This informal, interactive panel discussion provided practical solutions to key questions facing the industry today, including:
- What is the current situation with undocumented workers in this country? In Florida? In the construction industry?
- Immigrant workers: What is the responsibility of an employer? Of the government?
- Which elements of immigration reform can be supported by the construction industry?
The program was moderated by John P. Horan, a partner in Foley’s Construction Practice. Panelists included: State Representative Sandra (Sandy) Adams</B>; Jeff Murray, Office of Congressman Tom Feeney; Mark Wylie, President and CEO of the Central Florida Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC); and Kelly Knott, Director of Government Relations, Associated General Contractors of America.
