Rumberger Brings Extensive Private Equity and Venture Capital Experience in Technology, Media and Telecommunications Industries.
Foley announced today that E. Thom (“Todd”) Rumberger, Jr. has joined the firm as a partner in the Palo Alto office, working with the Private Equity & Venture Capital Practice. Prior to joining Foley, Rumberger was a shareholder in the Silicon Valley office of Greenberg Traurig LLP.
Rumberger focuses his practice on corporate and securities law with an emphasis on emerging growth companies involved in venture capital, private equity, mergers and acquisitions transactions. He also represents companies in cross-border transactions and those looking to expand domestically and internationally in the technology, media and telecommunications industries. Additionally, he advises investment bankers, venture capital firms and private equity investors on complex matters including acquisitions, dispositions, corporate governance, executive employment issues, venture capital financings, and a variety of commercial agreements.

Earlier in his career at a Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm, Rumberger specialized in the formation and capitalization of emerging companies. Rumberger also has extensive experience in representing public and private companies on numerous transactions including financings and mergers and acquisitions.

A frequent speaker, Rumberger has educated a variety of audiences, domestic and foreign, involved in the technology sector on financing venture capital deals and successfully handling complex mergers and acquisitions. In 2008, Rumberger became the primary editor for, and contributing author to a leading treatise on mergers and acquisitions of venture backed companies titled, “The Acquisition and Sale of the Emerging Growth Company: The M&A Exit”. He received his Master of Laws from the London School of Economics and his J.D. from the University of Florida. Rumberger received his bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University.
