Partner Michael Overly was quoted in a CSO article, “FTC’s Actions Put CSOs on High Alert,” on September 22, 2015. The article discussed the Federal Trade Commission’s push to sue organizations for weak IT security practices and key takeaways for security professionals. Overly was quoted saying, “This new attention [to the FTC’s power] is good because companies need to understand that it’s not about ‘now we need to fix things because we’ve been hacked,’ or they’re simply suffering from adverse publicity. My hope is that this points out to businesses that they need to be more proactive.”
