Tilleman is senior counsel and a business lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP and is a member of the Insurance & Reinsurance Industry Team and the Health Care Industry Team. Mr. Tilleman’s practice is concentrated on corporate and regulatory insurance and reinsurance law and on the intersection of health care and insurance. Mr. Tilleman represents insurers, and reinsurers in transactions, restructurings, reinsurance transactions, mergers, acquisitions, shell transactions, affiliations, joint ventures and insurance program arrangements, as well as providing regulatory and business counseling to a wide range of U.S. and international insurance industry participants. Prior to law school, Mr. Tilleman served as the volunteer coordinator for the American Red Cross of Greater Indianapolis. Recognition Mr. Tilleman was named one of Wisconsin’s 2016 “Up and Coming Lawyers” by the Wisconsin Law Journal. Education Mr. Tilleman earned his law degree, cum laude, from the Northwestern University School of Law (J.D., 2011), where he was an executive articles editor for the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology. He received the Leigh B. Bienen Prize for his comment, "(Trans)forming the Provocation Defense," which was published in the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology. Mr. Tilleman received his undergraduate degree majoring in English, economics and Germanic studies from Indiana University (B.A., 2007), where he was inducted to Phi Beta Kappa and was a Herman B. Wells Scholar. He spent a year studying abroad at the University of Freiburg, Germany. Languages Mr. Tilleman is proficient in German. Admissions Mr. Tilleman is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. Professional Memberships and Affiliations Mr. Tilleman is a member of the American Bar Association (Business Law and Tort and Insurance Sections), the National LGBT Bar Association, and the State Bar of Wisconsin, and serves on the board of directors of the Wisconsin LGBT Bar Association. Mr. Tilleman also serves on the Leadership Council of the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce.
