Foley Partner and co-chair of the Life Sciences Industry Team Judith Waltz was quoted in an article titled “More vendor relationships barred; doctors fight back” in the August 10, 2009 issue of Medical Practice Compliance Alert. Waltz discusses state laws banning gifts by pharmaceutical and device manufacturers to physicians and requiring public disclosure of other vendor relationships, noting that the government has already begun to target doctors in vendor deals that violate the Stark and anti-kickback statutes to which these laws tie.
