Foley Partner Elizabeth Hanigan was quoted in an article that appeared in SNL Financial on December 1, 2010 titled “The growing ‘whisper’ of wind plants attracts opposition.” Hanigan discusses a growing number of questions regarding the impact of wind turbine plants, stating that opponents of the turbines consistently raise questions about noise and health related concerns. She notes that these concerns are both hard to rebut and hard to prove, adding that landowners who are compensated for leasing their property to wind turbine companies do not typically report negative symptoms or complaints.
