Securities and Class Action Litigator Beth Boland Joins Foley in Boston
Foley announced today that Beth Boland has joined the firm’s Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice as a partner in the Boston office.
Boland focuses her practice on complex business litigation and government investigations in such areas as securities, insider trading, consumer and shareholder class actions, privacy, and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and attorney general investigations. She represents clients in a wide range of industries, including high technology, financial services, manufacturing and retail. Boland also advises corporate boards regarding whistleblower claims, corporate governance issues, and disputes involving executive compensation and strategic business transactions.

Boland regularly counsels corporations on derivative actions, shareholder disputes, privacy, and fraudulent sales practice class actions. She has advised many of the nation’s largest retail chains in multi-agency investigations, including attorney general investigations and multiparty class action litigation. Additionally, Boland has successfully litigated difficult cases involving criminal insider trading and other major SEC investigations and disputes. During her career, she has won numerous class actions, including a case with industry-wide ramifications in front of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.

Boland joined Foley from Bingham McCutchen LLP, where she was a partner in the firm’s Securities Litigation practice in Boston. Earlier in her career, Boland served as a clerk to the Honorable Milton Pollack in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. She has served in leadership roles at many organizations in the Boston community including the Massachusetts Judicial Nominating Committee, Women’s Bar Association of Massachusetts and the Boston Bar Association Task Force on Corporate Governance.
