Partner Irwin Raij was quoted in a Honolulu Star-Advertiser article, “Stadium Repairs to Cost $200MM,” on March 20, 2015. The article discussed the costs associated with keeping the University of Hawaii’s Aloha Stadium operational for the next 30 years versus building a new stadium.
Raij was quoted saying, “If, for argument’s sake, we did nothing for six years – zero capital repairs – you’d then have almost $400 million in health and safety repairs.” Alternatively, Raij said the consensus among respondents to a request for information by the Aloha Stadium Authority estimated it would cost $134 million to $300 million to build a new stadium. The article referenced a Foley study of the site that concluded, “There is consensus that both stadium and ancillary development are achievable on the current stadium site.”
