Partners Etsuo Doi and Philippe Riesen have been named to Best Lawyers’ eighth annual “Best Lawyers in Japan” list for their exceptional intellectual property (IP) litigation work.
Doi’s IP work focuses on matters relating to cross-border M&A transactions involving technically complex IP issues, as well as major technology licensing and litigations. In addition to being honored as one of this year’s top IP lawyers in Japan, Doi has been recognized by Best Lawyers every year since its launch of Japan recognition in 2009. Best Lawyers in Japan has also recognized Doi for the category of International Business Transactions for multiple years.
Riesen focuses his practice on patent litigation in the courts and post-grant proceedings before the U.S. Patent Office, opinion and due diligence work, and Food and Drug Administration matters. Riesen leverages his in-house experience at a major Japanese pharmaceutical company and his chemical/biotech background in representing chemical, pharmaceutical and materials clients.
