Law360 Discusses Presidential Commission’s Request for Voter Data With Peter Vogel
Law360 covered the Presidential Advisory Commission’s recent request for millions of voting records from all 50 states as part of its investigation into voter fraud. The publication spoke with cybersecurity experts to find out the significance of this request and the privacy concerns it raises, featuring comments from Gardere partner Peter S. Vogel.
Vogel told Law360 that he doesn’t believe the information the commission requested could be easily supplied. “Secretaries of state maintain records about who is registered to vote and who actually votes,” Vogel said. “To prove that who votes it the actual person who is registered to vote is much harder. There’s no linear means by which data is collected to validate what the commission is trying to get at.”
