Foley & Lardner is proud to announce that it has joined the Law Firm Antiracism Alliance. The newly formed organization of over 125 law firms will coordinate large-scale pro bono projects focused on addressing systemic racism in a long-term, high impact and collaborative way.
The LFAA will seek to “leverage the resources of the private bar to amplify the voices of communities and individuals oppressed by racism, to better use the law as a vehicle for change that benefits communities of color and to promote racial equity in the law and in government institutions,” according to its charter. Those resources include not only the pro bono attorneys, but also their connections in corporate America and government, which could play an important role in affecting change on an institutional level.
Foley will participate in both of LFAA’s planned summits in 2020 where stakeholders will share best practices and experiences with fellow attorneys as well as social and racial justice advocates and community leaders.
