Foley & Lardner LLP partner Christopher Swift is quoted in the Bloomberg article, “Weighing the Use of Economic Statecraft Tools in Gaza,” offering his assessment of the various mechanisms the U.S. can deploy in response to state threats amid the current conflict between Israel and Hamas.
“How the administration proceeds on Hamas, in terms of coordinating economic warfare, intelligence, and diplomacy, will tell us a lot about how the United States will respond to similar challenges involving state threats in the future,” Swift explained. “Because the target set may be different but the tools that are available to the U.S. government are very much the same.”
