Foley Partners with Utah Business Journal to Host Roundtable on Utah’s AI Industry
Foley & Lardner LLP recently co-hosted a roundtable discussion on Utah’s artificial intelligence industry with Utah Business Journal.
Featuring Foley partner Natasha Allen and leaders in Utah’s technology industry, roundtable attendees discussed trust, regulations, education, and other matters tied to AI. In the Utah Business Journal article summarizing the discussion, “What Utah’s AI industry leaders want you to know,” Allen offered insight on how leaders can build trust around the technology and its potential impact on the legal industry.
“Trust is built over time,” explained Allen, who is co-chair of Foley’s AI area of focus within the firm’s Innovative Technology Sector. “People were mistrustful of the internet. It takes time for people to understand what these technologies can do and what the impacts are.”
When asked how AI’s rapid advancement and growth will impact her field, Allen noted that clients will expect attorneys to become more efficient.
“I don’t think we’ll lose our jobs; we’ll become more effective at our jobs,” she added.
