Foley & Lardner LLP partner Louis Lehot commented on leadership and structural changes at OpenAI in the Pitchbook article, “Altman’s corporate overhaul could boost OpenAI’s growth—at a cost.”
Of OpenAI’s reported plans to remove its longstanding profit cap on investor returns, Lehot said, “[Removing the profit cap is] a huge boon for the investors.”
With OpenAI’s transition from nonprofit to public benefit corporation raising questions, Lehot asked, “Who will be the guardrails to the public good?”
