His practice focuses on general commercial litigation, including non-compete, construction, white collar defense, and bankruptcy litigation. Mr. Williams has successfully obtained judgments and negotiated settlements for clients in a variety of commercial disputes. Prior Experience His experience includes serving as a judicial intern to the Honorable James M. Hopkins of the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida and as a law clerk for Kozyak, Tropin, and Throckmorton. Community Engagement Each year, Mr. Williams provides hours of pro bono service to the Bay Area Volunteer Lawyers Program and has been recognized by the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee with Silver and Gold Awards. For example, since 2013, Mr. Williams has served on the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s committee that organizes the annual Robert J. Simms High School Mock Trial Competition and was appointed to be the committee’s co-chair in 2014. Recognitions Mr. Williams received a Tampa Bay Business Journal "Up & Comers" award in 2014. The award recognizes rising professionals in the Tampa Bay business community. Education Mr. Williams graduated, summa cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law (J.D., 2013), where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. He received awards in nine of his classes and was awarded the Louis Phillips Scholarship for his interest in bankruptcy law. He also served as an articles and comments editor of the University of Miami Law Review and the exchequer of the Bryan Inn of the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity. Additionally, he competed as part of the University of Miami Trial Team. Mr. Williams earned his master's (M.B.A., 2010) and bachelor’s (B.S., 2008) degrees from The University of Tampa, where he served as vice president and president of the Beta Alpha Psi financial information honors organization. Admissions Mr. Williams is a member of the Florida Bar and admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida. Publications Mr. Williams is an editor and co-founder of the Manufacturing Industry Advisor blog, a comprehensive multidisciplinary resource for next-generation manufacturing issues. Mr. Williams co-authored “3 Questions When Picking Business Interruption Insurance,” which was published in Law360 (October 14, 2015). In October 2012, Mr. Williams presented an article, “A Guiding Light: Safety Harbor,” at the Florida Historical Quarterly’s Academic Symposium that celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Middle District of Florida.
