Employee Benefits Broadcast (October 2008)

Foley is proud to present our new Web conference series, the Employee Benefits Broadcast. Each quarter, Foley’s Employee Benefits attorneys will share all of the employee benefits news and analysis you need in an engaging and informative hour-long Web conference.

Our first broadcast was on Tuesday, October 21, 2008. This session’s featured segments included:

• Cram Session: To provide a quick overview of new guidance that could impact your plans, Belinda S. Morgan focused on the recent Internal Revenue Service (IRS) correction procedures for qualified retirement plan errors.


• Fiduciary Fundamentals: Lloyd J. Dickinson discussed the U.S. Department of Labor’s (DOL) recent interest in gifts to plan fiduciaries.


• Vexing Verdicts: In this segment on surprising court decisions, Leigh C. Riley discussed a recent case about “scrivener’s error.”
