Waltz and Sorensen Quoted in Report on Medicare Compliance

Foley Partner Judy Waltz was quoted in an article titled, “As Payment Recipient, Hospitals are Seen as Next Target in Device Enforcement,” in the February 4 issue of Report on Medicare Compliance. Waltz comments on how enforcers may soon begin targeting hospitals due to physicians receiving kickbacks in the form of excessive payments from device makers, violating the False Claims Act.

Heidi Sorensen is also quoted in the February 4 issue of Report on Medicare Compliance in an article titled, “In ‘Focus Arrangement’ CIAs, Providers Home In on High-Risk Financial Relationships.” Sorensen discusses the impact focus arrangements have on audits of specific business deals.
