Gardere Represents George W. Bush in Purchase of Texas Rangers in 1989

Texas Lawyer recounted the 1989 Texas Rangers baseball club purchase by George W. Bush and partners. Gardere Partners Larry L. Schoenbrun and James S. Pleasant represented George W. Bush and his partner Edward "Rusty" Rose III, managing general partners of the investment group that made the purchase, in the transaction. At the time, Former President Bush was a businessman and son of a newly elected U.S. president. He was also potential candidate to run for Texas governor the next year.
