Foley & Lardner LLP announced today that Leah M. Eisenberg has joined the firm’s Bankruptcy & Business Reorganizations Practice as of counsel in the New York office.
Eisenberg has over 16 years of experience counseling clients in default, restructuring, bankruptcy and corporate trust matters, with an emphasis on indenture trustee, creditors’ committee and other creditor representations. Based on her seasoned background, contributions and leadership roles in the bankruptcy industry, Eisenberg will be receiving the prestigious New York Institute of Credit’s 2018 Women’s Executive of the Year Award next February.
“Leah is an exceptional attorney and we’re excited to add her experience and skillset to our talented team of bankruptcy practitioners,” said Jill Nicholson, chair of Foley’s Bankruptcy & Business Reorganizations Practice.
Earlier in her career, Eisenberg served as a first law clerk to the Hon. Robert E. Gerber, U.S. bankruptcy judge for the Southern District of New York. She is an active speaker and author on various bankruptcy and restructuring topics and holds leadership positions within the Women’s Division for the New York Institute of Credit, the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors and the American Bankruptcy Institute. Eisenberg is also committed to mentoring young lawyers in the bankruptcy and restructuring industry, participating in the New York City Bar Association’s monthly bankruptcy pro-bono program and supporting women’s business development initiatives.
“We’re making very strategic moves to build upon our highly regarded and utilized litigation services in New York,” said Jay Rothman, chairman and CEO of Foley & Lardner LLP. “Leah’s arrival underscores that effort.”
Prior to joining Foley, Eisenberg was a partner at Arent Fox.
